How to Distinguish between Polyether TPU Film and Polyester TPU Quickly?

TPU is a polyurethane thermoplastic elastomer, which is a heterophasic block copolymer composed of diisocyanate, polyol and chain extender. Common TPU elastomer is divided into two types: polyether TPU and polyester TPU. 

It is hard to distinguish between polyether TPU film and polyester TPU film from appearance. How quickly ? By density. Test the TPU film by density tester. 

The density of polyester TPU film is higher than polyether TPU film.

Polyester TPU has excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance, tear resistance, chemical resistance, high temperature resistance, easy processing, etc., but poor hydrolysis resistance.

Polyether TPU has excellent low temperature flexibility, hydrolysis resistance, UV resistance, but poor peel strength and breaking strength.
